We are passionate about international travel and exploration as vacations, cherishing the thrill of discovering new countries and immersing ourselves in unfamiliar cultures. Our dream is to continue embarking on journeys to destinations neither of us have visited before, savoring the richness of diverse traditions, languages, and cuisines. To us, travel is more than just a pastime; it is a gateway to broadening our perspectives and embracing the beauty of our world's diversity. We have been to Greece, Thailand, Canada, Mexico, England, France, and the Netherlands in the last few years.

As future parents, we wholeheartedly believe that exposing children to different cultures and experiences is crucial for their development. We are committed to including our children in all our travel adventures, ensuring they grow up with an appreciation for the world's vastness and the unique stories every place has to offer. These experiences will not only make them more well-rounded individuals but also instill empathy, curiosity, and an open-minded approach to life.

We envision our family creating cherished memories as we explore bustling markets, ancient ruins, and serene landscapes together, and of course the ocean at any chance we get. Each trip will be an opportunity for learning, bonding, and building a deep sense of respect for the diversity that makes our world so extraordinary.

As a couple, we have always embraced life with laughter, love, and a commitment to each other. Becoming parents is the most cherished dream we have, and we have been preparing for this beautiful journey for what feels like a lifetime.

The other brings a wealth of intellect filled with kindness, organizational skills, a love for arts and crafts, writing, and researching anything that piques interest.

Together, our complementary skills make us an ideal parenting duo. We blend structure with spontaneity seamlessly, creating a home that is both a sanctuary of love and a hub of learning. We are committed to nurturing our children with the perfect mix of structure and wonder, ensuring they grow into well-rounded individuals who are ready to embrace the world with confidence and curiosity.

Our stability, empathy, and dedication have prepared us to offer a safe, loving, and enriching upbringing. We can't wait to mix our strengths and unique skillsets and employ our shared commitment to encouraging personal growth with our future children.

We purchased our home in 2021 after we got married with the single intention of bringing children into our hearts and our home as soon as possible. We've spent the last few years settling in and cannot wait to add tiny feet and a bit of chaos to our family! Our neighborhood is only 4 years old and had just finished development when we moved in. It has incredible family-friendly amenities; indoor and outdoor pools and youth swim teams, a splash pad and toddler pool, a dog park we walk our rescue Stella to every day and around the pond along the walking trails that has ducks, turtles, and even an otter! Our neighborhood is made up of kids of all ages, constantly cruising up and down the winding streets of our community on bikes and scooters, strollers, and rollerblades. There is basketball, pickleball, tennis, and volleyball courts, and Santa Clause even shows up every year on his sleigh pulled by the community's volunteer Fire Department! We'll walk to our community's elementary school, a 1/4 mile down the road. It was just built this year due to the number of kids in the new development. We even have our own resident crossing guard. We're tucked back against the woods and see deer and wildlife behind our fenced yard every day. Even though our neighborhood is serene and feels miles away from the city, we are only 25 miles from Washington D.C. and close to the historic U.S. Capitol and Monuments.

Amanda is an only child with many cousins who she grew up with, while Mindy has one brother who is seven years older, giving them similar experiences growing up as "only children". We cherish our tradition of hosting Thanksgiving at home with family and our closest friends. Mindy's mom whom the grandkids call "Lovey"; Amanda's dad, Dave, comes from Minneapolis; and Amanda's Nana, who is turning 90 this July, flies from Portland, Maine! We watch football, enjoy a TON of food and play games. We treasure close relationships with our extended family, enjoying visits to Minnesota, Texas, California, Massachusetts, Maine for quality time together. Each one of our parents is eager to become a grandparent and celebrate this incredibly loved child's milestones. Our community of friends in the DMV (D.C., Maryland & Virginia) serves as an extended family, supporting us wholeheartedly in our journey to motherhood. They are already picking out their preferred Aunt/Uncle titles! By happenstance, several of our closest friends within our DMV circle have been adopted, chosen an adoption plan for a child, or have been raised with adopted and foster siblings. They are open and transparent about their experiences and give us incredible insights into different perspectives. We think this gives us even more empathy, love, and courage than we already had, and we cherish them deeply for it. We look forward to sharing our family's love, warmth, and traditions with an entire new family addition, not just the child. It takes a village!

We wholeheartedly reject the notion of competition between birth mothers and adoptive mothers for the child’s affection or as sole title owner of “mother.” Instead, we believe that this child already is the luckiest in the world to have such a loving birth mama who is considering ensuring that he or she has not one but three strong, brave, and courageous women supporting them as parents on their journey through life. We believe that every child deserves to grow up with a sense of security, knowing that they are profoundly loved by everyone involved in their life. We are committed to ensuring that your child feels this love and security every day from not just us, but you and their other family members continuously.

One of our core values is openness and honesty. From the very beginning, we will share with our child the beautiful story of their adoption, ensuring they understand the immense love and courage behind your decision. We will introduce the details of their adoption in age-appropriate ways, helping them to appreciate their unique beginning and the selfless choice made by their birthmother and birthfather. Our home will be a place where your choice is spoken of with respect and gratitude, and you will always be seen in a positive light as the courageous individuals who provide them with the gift of being loved and supported by more than two incredible families.

We believe that a well-rounded childhood includes the companionship of animals and the wonders of nature. We are dedicated to exploring the outdoors with our child and instilling in them a love for animals and the environment. This commitment to nurturing a deep connection with nature and exploration of the world is an integral part of our family life, and we are excited to share these experiences with our future child.

As parents, we welcome the opportunity to discuss various paths to maintaining open lines of communication with you by sending letters and pictures regularly, so you can see the milestones and joyous moments in our child’s life. We are also open to more contact, such as exchanging emails, phone calls, or even future visits with the belief that these interactions should be child-led and centered, ensuring that our child feels comfortable and supported in their relationship with all of us.
